Flexible products and services (FPS) division of Greif Inc is the world’s largest manufacturer and seller of flexible intermediate bulk packaging. The products are mainly used by large companies in the Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Food, Pharma, Agriculture and Mineral sectors. For the head quarters in Leiden, Netherlands, we are now searching for a Manager - Commercial Excellence

Manager, Commercial excellence will be responsible for leading the Account Planning and Commercial performance management work streams for the entire division. It is a mission-critical position in the organization that will transform how we plan to succeed with each customer account. This role will work with our Regional Commercial Directors and Key account Directors to prepare account plans for all important accounts. Account planning normally happens at the Strategic AND the tactical level and this Manager will act as the advisor and consultant to all the regional heads in preparing detailed plans. In addition the person in this role will work with our regional commercial directors to establish a performance management process for our account managers. This typically includes goal setting, reviewing performance against goals, helping solve problems to enable performance improvement. This role will report to the Director of Commercial Excellence for the division and will have 1 to 2 direct reports at the beginning
Key responsibilities:
- Build disciplined and rigorous approach to managing the company’s most important accounts
- Implement comprehensive account plan templates – Including overview, strategy, total spend & share, needs, key stakeholders, action plan
- Drive strategic and tactical plans with specific financial targets, actions plans, service elements
- Create Simple, standardized process that is replicated on a sustainable ongoing basis
- Build capability within account teams tot deliver against action plans
- Cross-functional problem solving and execution that enables sales force to collaborate with broader organization to indentify solutions and capture results
- Facilitate cross-functional account review to align on targets and action plan for customers, including sales (rep & manager), operations, supply chain, finance
- Track performance against agreed upon targets

- Top academic performance at undergraduate level – Business or Technical degree preferred
- A Masters in Business (MBA) is desired but not a must
- 5 to 8 years of overall work experience and strong career progression
- Experience in a B2B sales / account management environment
- Experience in market planning and or commercial strategy development
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Excellent communication skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, considerable drive and energy
- Fluency in English and ability to fluently communicate in one of the more following European languages – German, French or Dutch is a big advantage
- Ability to work in a less structured / fast paced environment
- Significant travel within Europe will be required
